Ross Woodward Classical Studies School Focuses On A Paideia Way Of Teaching With Socratic Seminars
We are very proud at Ross Woodward Classical Studies School to be a Paideia Model School. We are very different and unique from many other schools as our theme focuses on the Whole Child through the Paideia Philosophy of Teaching. We do a lot of project based teaching and we take pride in our Socratic Seminars. We believe that it is important for children to be taught higher order thinking skills. Through seminar children are able to see things more clearly through a critical lens. They are able to form their own opinions and speak about them in the seminar circle. This tradition and practice of Seminars is something that Ross Woodward takes great pride in! Below is a photo of our students engaged in a seminar at the Trees of Hope Event at Long Wharf. Our seminar theme is our core value of Sharing Hands.
